Water has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Fishing and boating weren’t just hobbies - they were a way of life. That early passion eventually steered me into the world of tournament bass fishing, where I competed in local circuits and traveled nationwide for high school fishing tournaments. Heading into my senior year of high school, I wasn’t completely sure what career path to follow. A close friend encouraged me to pursue marine technology and bring those skills back home to North Platte - a community with a clear need for dependable, knowledgeable marine service. That advice ultimately set my course. I attended Iowa Lakes Community College, earning an AAS degree in Marine Technology. During and after college, I gained hands-on experience working at a dealership in Okoboji, Iowa, and later in Kearney at Buzz’s Marine. Those years in the shop gave me real-world experience in diagnostics, rigging, repairs, and the level of attention to detail required to keep customers on the water instead of waiting at the dock. Today, I’m proud to be back home running Ott’s Marine My goal is simple — to provide the kind of reliable marine service Nebraska boat owners can count on season after season.
